Bowlers the world-over know him as a formidable batsman and a valuable all-rounder for the Sri Lankan team. He was also the architect of Sri Lanka's World Cup win in 1996. But there is one side of Sanath Jayasuriya which is yet to be revealed; that is of a dancer!
Sanath Jayasuriya has created dance history by being the 1st participant of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa who is not of Indian origin. The reticent cricketer recently showed his fun side while shooting for the for the promo for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
In this promo, he can be seen sitting in a locker room when he receives an invite from Madhuri Dixit to participate in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. From there he goes on to the dance floor where he went into Salman Khan mode by dancing on 'Mera hi Jalwa' for the camera. He did not manage to do the Bollywood jhatkas in the first attempt, but his cricket practice held him in good stead as he went over the steps repeatedly till he got them down pat, even hitting a straight drive for the camera.
So Sanath fared pretty well for his first foray onto the dance floor. We hope he gets better with time and becomes as fearsome on the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa stage as he is on the pitch.
