While 2013 was a great year professionally for TV personality Rashami Desai, she faced tough times in her marital life owing to separation with her husband Nandish Sandhu. For an actor it’s not easy to balance work and personal life but Rashami is one of those strong women who can handle things till the end.  Like an ethical person she never backed off any commitments due to personal strain and continued working with complete efforts.

First Break: At a very young age Rashami began her career and got her first break in the mythological drama Raavan playing the role of Mandodri.  After that she played a few roles in other fiction shows but ultimately joined Uttaran and Colors in 2008 and continued this partnership till 2012. From childhood Rashami has been trained in Kathak and Bharatnatyam and because of which she’s often seen performing in various events and dance reality shows like Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 5. Other than being one of the best vamps on TV, she is an aspiring film actress and has done quite a few Bhojpuri and Bollywood movies.
What she’s best at: Rashami is a well known face of the Colors family and has been a part of the journey since 2008. The character of Uttaran’s Tapasya turned iconic when the actor continued the journey further and brought another dimension to the role. Since then she has become an important figure in the Colors family and one which can’t and actually couldn’t be replaced.

Last year she made a comeback of sorts in Uttaran and while once she used to be the wickedest vamp in this show this time around her character turned positive and as an actor Rashami proved her versatility. The whole year, her character helped the story move forward in a positive direction giving her fans to love her more.

Rashami also experimented with other genres like comedy and was seen playing the role of ‘Natkhat Saali’ in Colors' Nautanki – The Comedy Theatre. It is also in this year that Rashami turned net savvy and started blogging voraciously and became more active on her Twitter account.

Where she left a mark: On one hand Rashami's career was advancing ahead on TV, she also made her presence felt on the big screen and did a cameo appearance in the popular song ‘Dagabaaz Re’ from Dabangg 2. The cameo gave her the perfect limelight and was appreciated by many including Salman Khan.

2013 was a landmark year for Rashami, as she saw many changes in her personal and professional life. Many a times she has been quoted saying that Colors is like a second family to her and we hope this love continues till the very end!
