The wonder boy who stole hearts of millions of viewers as a young magician in Dhoom 3 is all set to make his grand television debut! The very young Siddharth Nigam has been roped in to play the title role of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat soon to premiere on Colors. The 14 year old who is all geared up to take the mantle of the great emperor Ashoka, one hears is extremely excited about his character. The boy already has his 6 pack abs in place and is training in martial arts, sword fighting and horse riding. 

Siddharth is a qualified gymnast who trains every morning for 2 hours. He is also preparing to represent India in an International Gymnastic Championship in 2016.  Being an acrobatics enthusiast, he has an extremely flexible body and is super swift with his cartwheels, backflips and other stunts. “He was the ideal choice for a magnum opus of this scale and he is so good that he is going to be doing all stunts on his own in the show. Siddharth is also taking language and diction classes and growing his hair to do justice to the role of King Ashoka,” says a source.

In what may be recollected as one of India’s rich and cultural heritage, the compelling story of this Great Emperor will be written by the acclaimed and contemporary author Ashok Banker, who will be making his comeback to television after nearly two decades. This mythological retelling on COLORS will captivatingly showcase the journey and life time of Emperor Ashoka, from his rise to power to his state of penance after the gory blood-bath in the historical battle of Kalinga that made him give up war to embrace Buddhism.
