Colors TV is the best GEC on Television and this fact was proved in the 11th Indian Telly Awards in which the channel bagged ten awards in their kitty.  Our shows ruled both fiction and non-fiction categories with Balika Vadhu picking up three in their name.
Our favorite Dadisa, Surekha Sikri, won the jury award for best actress in a supporting role. Unfortunately, she couldn’t make it to the event and her bahu Anandi (Pratyusha Banerjee) collected the award on her behalf.  Best actor in a supporting role (jury) went to Nisar Khan for his powerful performance in Na Aana is Des Laado.

Another win came in the name of Balika Vadhu with Anoop Soni picking up the award for best supporting role in the popular category. On winning the award he said, “Last year too I had won but that was in jury. It feels nice to have won in popular category this year.”  Well we are sure your fans love you to make you win this year!
Balika Vadhu also bagged the award for Best Drama Series and Veer Shivaji got the Best Historical series award.  In non-fiction our show Bournvita Quiz Contest aced the Kids Programme category whereas India’s Got Talent (season 3) was awarded for the best judges’ panel.

And one of the most important awards for the night, best actor in a lead role, was picked up by Samir Soni for his stellar performance as Kunal Chopra in Parichay. Last year too Samir had won in the same category and looks like he is on a roll. When asked what his plans to celebrate this joyous moment are, being the family man he said “Well I will just go out with my wife Neelam for a quiet dinner and then maybe with friends. No big plans.”
Every year Colors brings home tons of awards thanks to the love that is showered on them by its dedicated audience and this year was no different. Audience love is definitely the most important reward but awards like these surely boost our morale. So keep them coming!
