Adding diversity to its fiction offerings, COLORS is all set to enthrall viewers with the launch of a volatile love story, Beintehaa. For the first time ever, the channel will be focusing on the pan-Muslim milieu with a story of two similar and headstrong individuals, Aaliya and Zain who find themselves in a complex relationship. Produced by Fortune Productions, Beintehaa is a story of finding endless love in a relationship born out of obligation. Beintehaa is slated to hit television screens starting 30th December, 2013 with subsequent episodes to air every Monday to Friday at 9PM only on COLORS.
We have often heard of love stories born out of an accidental meeting or the first glimpse. However, Beintehaa, breaking traditions, brings to fore a deep love that comes to the fore only after the relationship is over. The storyline portrays Aaliya (Preetika Rao), a traditional Bhopal girl, and Zain (Harshad Arora), a modern Mumbai lad, who are like-minded headstrong people with similar likes and dislikes. As their worlds collide, Aaliya and Zain find themselves bound in a marriage born out of obligation where the only common feeling is hate.

Speaking about the show, Prashant Bhatt, Weekday Programming Head – COLORS, said, “With Beintehaa, we are adding diversity to our fiction line-up by focusing on the pan-Muslim milieu which makes for a cohesive viewing experience. The show brings to fore a love story that will change the audiences’ outlook towards relationships through a riveting narrative that showcases hues of love and hate that take over the lives of Aaliya and Zain.”

Speaking about her small screen debut, Preetika Rao aka Aaliya said, “Having done films down South, television was a relatively new playing field for me. The story and concept of Beintehaa is what drew me to the show and I found myself accepting it almost instantaneously. Aaliya is a spunky Muslim girl who has grown up in Bhopal. She is fairly religious, but is full of life. I hope the audiences will enjoy the sincerity with which we have performed and appreciate this venture that we have undertaken.”

Commenting on his role, Harshad Arora aka Zain said, “Zain is a man of today. He has a very contemporary and modern outlook towards life because he has grown up in Mumbai and studied in London. He has a constant tussle with Aaliya because they are very similar in terms of their likes and dislikes but he is quite impulsive. I love the storyline of Beintehaa and I hope viewers enjoy watching the show as much as we have while working on it.”

Commenting on the launch of Beintehaa, Farhan Salaruddin from Fortune Productions said, “With Beintehaa, we have collaborated with some of the best creative minds in the industry to showcase a complex love story. With relatable characters to lead the storyline, we hope to engage audiences and keep them hooked to the show.”

Supporting the pair is a strong ensemble cast including well-known faces like Suchitra Pillai, Riva Babbar, Rituraj, and Naved Aslam who essay pivotal characters in the show.
