Bringing celluloid on Television: Madhubala

The venue was set, the lights were perfect and the red carpet was laid at the entrance of Cinemax, Versova. Occasion? Colors’ biggest show Madhubala’s Premiere! Never heard about the premiere of a television show right? Well, let us introduce you to one of the biggest shows in the history of Indian television, Colors’ Madhubala. 

The show that goes on Air on May 28th is all set to bring the celluloid on your television in this year as Indian Cinema completed 100years. Madhubala stars some of the most famous and veteran actors like Sushmita Mukherjee, Raj Zutshi, Vivian Dsena, Rakhi Vijan, Drashti Dhami and Shagufta Ali.

We caught hold of Raj Zutshi on the red carpet, who makes his comeback on the small screen after almost 12 years, “This is going to be the biggest show on television till date. We aim to show not only about Bollywood, but also about what happens behind the screen. It’s an attempt to go beyond light, camera, action,” he said excitedly. 

Rakhi Vijan a.k.a Sweety of Hum Paanch fame also makes her comeback on television with Madhubala. “It feels great to make a comeback on television because this is where I started my career from. Yes, I did take a long time as the roles offered to me weren’t appealing.” She confessed. Talking about her character, she added, “You will get to see glimpses of Sweety in this role, since I am playing a comic character.”
