Yes, Avika Gor has finally been bitten by the Twitter bug and has joined Twitter. Avika, who plays Roli in Sasural Simar ka, now has her own space on Twittersphere at @meavikasgor. 

We asked the young actress what prompted her to join the Twitter bandwagon and she replied, “My fans kept asking me to join Twitter so I could be in touch with them. I asked my parents for permission and they were initially hesitant about Twitter needing to be updated daily, but finally they gave in…and I’m here!”

Avika plans to use the platform not only to connect to her fans, but also to follow the people that she admires. Avika says, “If I have an important message for my fans, I’ll tweet about it. It’s obviously not possible to reply to each and every message on Twitter, but I’ll try my best to keep in touch with my fans. I’ve started following Priyanka Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, and all the people from whom I think I can learn.”

Interestingly, her co-star Manish Raisinghani was the one who took her through the basics of Twitter. He also gave her a shout out to her on Twitter, asking people to follow her. Avika confesses, “There were a lot of RoSid fans who used to ask Manish about me or ask him to pass on a message to me. So I made Manish announce that I was on Twitter, so that my fans could get in touch with me directly!”

So Avika has a final message to the Twitterati- “I’ll try to reply to as many people as possible. I have joined Twitter so that I can get to learn new things, and to get feedback from my fans. So keep following me!”
