Akanksha Singh, better known as Megha Vyas of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuchh Kaha, has wowed the audience with her nuanced portrayal of Megha Vyas, a widowed mother of two. And now this portrayal has been lauded by the Indian Telly Awards where she won the 'Fresh New Face' award.
This award needs a special mention because Megha won it for an unconventional role at such a young age. So has the risk paid off? Akanksha definitely thinks so. She says, “I'm really glad that I got

recognition for a role that was so different. I was really happy when I got the award.”
Going further, we asked Akanksha if she felt any different after being crowned the 'Fresh New Face' of

the television industry. She laughs,”No, I don't feel any different when I see myself in the mirror. It

is an acknowledgement that what I did was right and I will keep doing it till my fans appreciate my

work.”
But one thing that is definitely not appreciated by her co-stars is that she hasn't yet given them a

party to celebrate her breakthrough success at the award function. Akanksa confesses,”I did distribute

sweets to the unit but yes, a party is pending as I have no time to celebrate. But yes, it will happen

soon.”
Party or not, this award has caused celebration not just in the unit, but also in Akanksha's hometown. In

fact, the Indian Telly Awards trophy is at her hometown in Jaipur where her family members are admiring

the testimony given for Akanksha's work. “My father took the trophy home. And when I know that my

granparents have touched it and know what their grand daughter is doing, the feeling is indescribable,”

shares Akanksha.
We're sure that her family's love means as much to Akanksha as the award. And we hope that Akanksha keeps winning such laurels in the future too!
