Sampat Pal Devi

Sampat Devi Pal (born 1960) is the founder and leader of a group of political activists in India northern Uttar Pradesh states Banda District that the gulabi gang or "pink gang" - so named because they wear a uniform of pink saris. Banda is at the heart of Bundelkhand, one of the poorest parts of one of India's most populous states.Their goal is to strike fear in the hearts of wrongdoers and earn the respect of officials who have the power to initial positive change.
