An innocent child , Jagdish barely realizes the meaning of  male dominance in this patriarchal society. Being the only son of his parents and a favorite in the joint family the family gets him married to an elevn year old girl, Anandi. The bringing in of his bride  is like that of one child intruding upon another’s world. There are fights about the enforced sharing of everything. Their relationship therefore is one of cute friendship, silly fights and bitter sweet making up, much before it progresses to even tender love. Without taking any moral postures apart from denouncing the custom of child marriage,  Anandi and Jagdish both represent different aspects of this issue and in an entertaining manner tell us what happens when two individuals who are not mature and themselves unable to make the right decision  for themselves get bound in a serious institution like marriage.
