Chakor

Born to Bhuvan and Kasturi, Chakor is sold off when in her mother’s womb, as collateral for money to perform the last rites of her grandfather. 

And at a time when city kids of her age are studying and reading and learning the world, Chakor spends her time learning about her place in the haveli as a slave, as the lowliest human being. But she grows up as any other child would, with zest for life and brimming with restless confidence, always very curious.
