She has been a part of our lives for 2 years, and has managed to make her place in our hearts in this time. We have cried and smiled with her as Anandi. And today on her birthday, we tell you why we are proud of Pratyusha, our Anandi.
1. Pratyusha is truly a people's star!
When Balika Vadhu was about to take a leap, the whole nation was waiting to see who the grown-up Anandi would be. But why wait when you can choose? In a first of its kind move, Colors took a poll to select the new Anandi from 3 probable artists. And the country chose Pratyusha, all of 19 then, to be their favourite bahu. This makes Pratyusha a star made by the public. Good choice, India!
2. Pratyusha took on a difficult task, and shined!
When Pratyusha took on the mantle of playing Anandi, Balika Vadhu and Anandi were already a darling of the masses. Other stars have tried and failed to be the new face of a popular character, and failed. But Pratyusha took on the role and made it her own, impressing everyone with her innocence and honesty. That's quite a responsibility she bore, considering her frail shoulders!
3. Pratyusha is a great co-star
There is no doubt about her acting skills, but apart from that she is also a superb co-star. She gets along very well with Shashank Vyas, who plays Jagya and has also managed to gel well with her new co star, Siddharth Shukla, aka Shiv. But her best friend on set is Smita Bansal, who plays her mother in law. We guess shooting for the show day in and day out does that to you.
4.Pratyusha is an independent girl
The only child of her parents, Pratyusha had to move to the big bad city of Mumbai from Jamshedpur when she was selected to play Anandi. Being away from your parents is always a nightmare, and more so when you are only 19! But Pratyusha dug in her heels and stayed back in Mumbai, all on her own. We love the fact that Pratyusha, like Anandi, grew up and became responsible at such a young age.
5. Pratyusha is an inspiration for young girls
Many young girls look up to Anandi for her grit and strength, but Pratyusha in real life, too, is no less of an inspiration. Imagine being a normal teenager one day and suddenly thrust into the limelight the next day. Pratyusha has been a great public figure, and her success story has put stars in the eyes of young girls across India
6. Pratyusha gave her best to Jhalak
Being the lead of a fiction show and participating in a dance reality show is not for everyone. But Pratyusha took up the challenge and performed styles ranging from contemporary to Bollywood. Her effort was appreciated by the judges and the audience too. She got eliminated in the 5th week, but we're proud of our Anandi for trying so hard despite he gruelling schedules!
