Rishabh Kumar aka RK is the biggest and baddest superstar on television today. Everything about him is larger than life, be it his films, his fan following or his ego. So it is a given that the house, no, mansion that he lives in is also king size. We bring to you an exclusive peek into the RK mansion.
As soon as you enter RK mansion, the first thing that catches your eye is the size of the house. There is a reception desk at the entrance of the house where visitors are screened before being allowed to meet the superstar. The desk and the decor that goes along with it are more suited for a top-end hotel, rather than a residence, don't you think?
Turn your head to the right from the reception desk, and you see a lounge area dominated by a large couch and a few more deseigner touches like the globes hanging from the really, really high ceiling. This is where RK prefers to meet people whom he doesn't want to invite inside the house. What caught our eye was the collection of paintings with the Statue of Liberty theme on the lounge wall. Our superstar is harbouring Hollywood dreams, perhaps?
Apart from Hollywood, another obsession that we discovered was that of paintings. And not just any paintings, but those of horses reminiscent of those created by the late MF Hussain. We found this beautiful painting running across the length of the wall in RK's reception area. Expensive choice, we must say.
Just beside the wall length painting, we chance upon another painting of a horse on an adjacent wall. This one is more dynamic and eye catching, and we approve.
And then another painting of two not very friendly horses near the elevator at RK mansion. Now we think that RK's liking for MF Hussain paintings is not just a passing fad.
And one more painting by the same artist. High above anybody's eye level. Now we're confused, are we in RK mansion or an art gallery?
Entering into the main area of RK's house, we are awed by the sheer size of it. It is atleast 2 floors in height and the wall facing the entrance is done up in an impressive way. The wall, apart from having an interesting texture and a frame, also has a long couch lined against the wall. It sure must come in handy during the parties that the superstar hosts.
Just beside the impressive textured wall, we find an interesting fitting with sky coloured curtains and twinkling lights. It is a little over the top, but our guess is RK, being a superstar, likes to fill his house with larger than life things.
Now we don't know if RK has a fondness for wildlife, but this pair of deer finds a place of pride under the blue curtains. Their huge antlers and interesting texture win our approval.
This is the living room of Superstar RK. The centre of the room is dominated by a collection of chairs in the shape of swans and a centre table with bowed legs. The light coloured couches are decked up with cushions in bright contrasting colours, giving the whole set up a modern yet eclectic feel.
What superstar's house is complete without a piano in the living room? RK too, has a piano smack in the middle of this room. We hope it is not there only for ornamental purposes and RK actually has some musical abilities apart from his acting skills.
Right beside the imposing piano is this flamboyant red seat for two. We like the red but think that the rose design is a little to feminine for the macho superstar. But who are we to complain? RK just might have a romantic side to him.
If all the artefacts in the mammoth living room weren't enough, there is also a huge medieval painting hanging on one end of the room. This classy painting provides a vintage feel to an otherwise modern looking home.
Just off the living room is the bar areaof RK's house. It is a brick structure in the centre of the room and looks like it is well stocked for the benefit of the high-profile guests that RK must entertain. A quirky rectangular chandelier adds to the glamour of the set up.
We think spirituality are as important to RK as spirits as we see a large statue of Sleeping Buddha beside the bar area. RK believes that having a Sleeping Buddha in you house brings calm and success to the owner. And guessing by RK's level of success, the best guess is that it does work.
A superstar that dines in style, stays in style. RK's dining area is a testimony to this. It is a large wooden dining table that can easily seat around 20 people. Hmmm, impressive. The wall behind the dining table is also done up to imress. And of course, the ever-present chandelier makes its appearance here too.
One of the best things about RK's bar cum dining area is the cascading waterfall effect that he has created. The flowing water over the glass partition gives an impression of a waterfall right in RK's house. The waterfall is connected to a small pond on the outdoor lounge, which increases the calming effect.
