Shriti Jha recently entered Balika Vadhu as Ganga who is also a victim of child marriage. She is seen playing the role of a young mother who is abused by her in-laws. We chatted up with her and got some exclusive tidbits just for you fans!
When asked how was her experience in joining the team of Balika Vadhu she commented, “It feels great to be a part of such a knowledgeable and experienced cast. The feeling is immensely beautiful. It took me some time to get used to it but everyone has been nice.”
She has shot her initial scenes with Shashank Vyas (Jagya) and found him to be a very sincere actor and enjoyed working with him.
On working with Surekha Sikri she said, “I still haven’t got the opportunity to share screen space with her but I am very nervous to even be in front of her. I doubt I will even be able to utter my lines properly!”
We asked her if she faced any challenges while adapting to the role of Ganga she replied, “For me, initially, it was very difficult to imagine myself as Ganga. But the writer and director of the show have so much faith in the character. For them Ganga is very much human and I blindly follow their instructions. Balika Vadhu is known to etch detailed characters and Ganga is a part of that list.”
In the show, Ganga runs into Jagya who later comes to know about her horrid past. Soon the show will go into flashback where we will get to know more details about Ganga’s life. We asked her if there’s a possibility of a romantic track between Ganga and Jagya, to which she said, “There’s so much happening in Ganga’s life. She has so much anguish and hatred against her husband and his family that she has no romantic inclination towards anyone. All she thinks about is how to keep her child safe.”
