The healing and unifying power of music needs no introduction. Through the centuries, music has been used to bring nations and hearts together. But now music is a part of a ground breaking relationship where two leading GECs will come together to bring to you an epic musical battle.
That’s right. Colors is presenting a one of its kind music reality show, Sur-Kshetra, in collaboration with Sahara One channel and Saaibaba Telefilms. This means that musical extravaganza will be telecast simultaneously on both the channels.
The format of this show is as unique as the collaboration it has brought about. Sur-Kshetra, as its name suggests amply, is a musical battle where singers from across the border will compete for the top prize. Heading the aspirants from the Indian team is singer, music director and actor Himesh Reshammiya while the Pakistani team will be ably captained by Atif Aslam. These teams will be judged in their musical prowess by stalwarts from the subcontinent, namely, Asha Bhosle from India, Abida Parveen from Pakistan and Runa Laila from Bangladesh.
With such a diverse and talented mix of musical flair, it is a given that the level of competition and the quality of singing will be unmatched. And this is not all. These musical giants and aspirants will be joined by Ghulam Ali, Hadiqa Kiani and Sajjad Ali from Pakistan, and Suresh Wadkar, Ismail Darbar, Alka Yagnik and Sapna Mukherjee in star-studded episodes. And anchoring this extravaganza will be Bollywood beauty Ayesha Takia. Undoubtedly, it doesn’t get better than this.
Speaking about the strategic tie-up – a first on Indian television, Raj Nayak, CEO – COLORS, said, “Music has the unique ability to unify people and today, it has brought two channels together. Sur-Kshetra will mark COLORS’ foray into the singing genre non-fiction content segment and we are extremely excited about this new venture. By adding the show to our bouquet of offerings, we are working towards fulfilling our commitment to cohesive viewing while providing our audiences with unique content keeping them engaged.”
Agreeing with Raj Nayak, Suresh Mishra, Asst Director Worker, SAHARA ONE said, “With this legendary Indo-Pak musical grandeur, viewers from both the Nations and across the globe will witness a new generation of gifted singers from the two most melodious talent pools of the world. We are very excited about this strategic tie-up with COLORS giving Sur-Kshetra a combination of two large platforms that does justice to the stature of the Show”
Colors and Sahara One are ready to take music to another level with Sur-Kshetra. SO if you are interested in music and some neighbourly love, don’t miss this epic musical battle.
