The new show on Colors, Sanskaar- Dharohar Apnon ki is just two episodes old (Watch the first episode), but has definitely impressed the new-age audience. In terms of experiment, there is a lot that the show has tried to incorporate in terms of its storyline that we got to know about from the Supervising Creative Producer of the show Swapna Joshi during the recording of the Bhajan for the show.
“It’s been a very long journey. We have been working on this show for the past 13 months and seeing it on-air now is like seeing your baby take his first step,” she said excitedly.
When asked about the theme of the show and how is it different from what we have been seeing, Swapna replied, “Sanskar doesn’t only mean waking up in the morning, bathing before eating or performing pooja everyday. Does it? Sanskar according to us is valuing one’s conscience. It can’t be forced, but acquired! And, hence we have not been preachy in this show!”
What are the elements of surprises in the show? “To begin with, for the first time ever, the blockbuster trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has composed and sung the title track of the show. There is one heart rending Bhajan, which is also the theme music of the show, has been written and composed by the maverick duo of Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire” the chirpy producer told us. That’s all? We asked her and she blushed, “Well, I am also doing a cameo in the show as well. I am playing the female lead’s grandmother, Urmila Patel and people call her Ummi. Because she has stayed in US for 20 years, she has a modern outlook. You’ll be able to see me in the fifth episode!”
We wish Swapna and the entire team of Sanskaar all the best!
