Madhuri…and jittery about dance? Doesn't seem possible for the dancing diva to be nervous about dancing right? But when you're teaming up with a living legend of Kathak dancing, some frayed nerves are obvious. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has managed a casting coup with Pandit Birju Maharaj agreeing to perform with Madhuri on the show, and Madhuri is understandably excited and nervous about the performance.

This is not the dhak dhak girl's first association with Birju Maharaj. The Padma Vibhushan Kathak exponent has choreographed Madhuri in Dil To Pagal Hai and was also the man behind Madhuri's breathtaking moves in 'Kaahe Chhed Mohe' in Devdas. But this will be the first time that the duo will perform together on one platform, that too, on the Jhalak stage!

Madhuri, who shot for the jugalbandi with the Kathak maestro recently, had this to say before the performance, “Performing with Birju Maharaj is a great honour but it is also a daunting task. I have been choreographed by him but doing a jugalbandi with him is another matter altogether! I'm really looking forward to it and I'm sure it will be a memorable moment for me.”

While Madhuri considers Pandit Birju Maharaj as her guru, and one of the greatest names in Kathak, the maestro too, has equal affection towards Madhuri and thinks that she is the best dancers of her generation. When Birju Maharaj choreographed her for Dil To Pagal Hai and Devdas, he came away impressed with her ability to learn the most difficult steps quickly and do full justice to them with her dancing skills. Now the guru and shishya will be able to take this mutual admiration to another level, and give the audiences a treat with a jugalbandi act on the Jhalak stage.

While most celebrities who come to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa are excited and nervous about performing with Madhuri Dixit, it would be interesting to see the tables turned on Madhuri for once this time! To watch this rare picture perfect moment, tune in to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this weekend.
