Anil Kapoor’s ambitious project 24 seems to be a collection of firsts. It is Anil Kapoor’s first foray into Indian television, as well as Abhinay Deo’s first directorial venture on television. And now, it has notched up another first as Abhinay will direct his brother Ajinkya Deo for the first time.
Ajinkya Deo, son of veteran actors Ramesh and Seema Deo, has been working in the Marathi and Hindi film industries for a long time. So even though the brothers Ajinkya and Abhinay are partners in the production house that they have started, it may come as a surprise that Abhinay has not directed his elder brother before. Looks like they were looking for the right project to come along, and now that 24 is here, Ajinkya and Abhinay will collaborate as actor and director.
Interestingly, Ajinkya is six years elder to Abhinay, so it remains to be seen if he surrenders to Abhinay’s vision as a director or gives him inputs as his ‘bade bhaiyya’. Another interesting fact is that Ajinkya recently played the role of a RAW agent in Bejoy Nambiar’s latest release, David. His role in 24 will also be on similar lines, where he’ll be seen playing the role of an agent.
Abhinay Deo seems to have followed the ‘Charity begins at home’ philosophy. After all, why look too far when you’ve got a talented actor at home? With the ‘brothers in arms’ working together on this project, the outcome will be interesting to see.
